It’s been out for about a week now and the Blackberry Curve has managed to stay pretty much under the radar. But, it’s about time that changed. Here skulking un-noticed is one of the more affordable smartphones.
This phone has something for everyone, 2 megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard, document applications allowing acces to word, excel and pdf files on the go and that all important media sync, to hook up to your itunes.
Now, being the ‘budget’ smartphone, it’s got a lot to prove. Of course there’s got to be cut-backs somewhere. Realistically, they’re everywhere (so to speak) what Blackberry has done is lower the specifications across the board, meaning you get all the features you’d expect from a smartphone, but in its simplest form. This isn’t to say that it’s a bad phone, far from it. It is what it is, an affordable smartphone. Its still got email capabilities, up to 32 GB of external storage and fast browsing.
For the media savvy among us, there’s dedicated media keys, giving you quick and easy control for both the music player and other multimedia features, you can also take photos and upload them straight to social networking sites.
This is clearly the forerunner of Blackberrys non-3G range of devices, and is the perfect hanset for those taking their first steps into the Blackberry world. Its simple and practical, and with it being the lightest Blackberry yet it’s easily pocketable.
